Turns out that the new features in PlayTV, like Series Link are going to be pay-for upgrade from the PS Store. No news of how much yet, but I’d feel very curmudgeonly having to pay anything for ‘Chat TV’.

Logitech Harmony adaptor for PS3 - Review
As the PS3 uses Bluetooth, rather than IR, traditional all-in-one remotes haven’t been able to control it. Instead, a range of third-party remotes have sprung up, all requiring the use of one of the PS3’s precious USB ports.
Until this little device came out, I used 2 remotes in the house. The official PS3 ‘Blu-Ray’ remote, and a Logitech Harmony One that controlled my...

Re-tune your PlayTV day
If you live in the UK, today is when you need to retune your freeview channels in order to keep getting the full set. This is apparently to make way for Freeview HD channels.
To retune your PlayTV, simply go to Settings > Setup >Channel Scan. I found the process took just a couple of minutes. Note that any scheduled recordings will probably need to redone.

Changing the icon on a movie file
Movie files on the PS3 get a default icon of the first 15 seconds. This often means the opening credits, making it hard to quickly distinguish between movies.
You can change the icon to be any 15 seconds from the movie, allowing for something more memorable. To do this:
Play the movie then press the triangle key to show the movie options. Select the ‘change icon’ option from the...
